20 Years of educating global citizens

Thursday, November 14, was a day of celebration at Gjøvik videregående skole, marking the 20th anniversary of our IB Diploma Programme.

Students and teachers gathered in the school cafeteria to honour two decades of international education. 

Exhibition by our students

The event featured an inspiring exhibition created by our current students, showcasing the IB curriculum and activities. 

Speeches highlighted the program’s history and achievements, and the celebration concluded with delicious cakes.

Special guest Mr. Ivar Brandt, our first IBDP Coordinator, shared heartfelt memories of the programme’s founding. 

He reflected on the challenges faced during its establishment and the determination that brought the IB to Gjøvik. 

The Head of School echoed this commitment, pledging to support the program for the next 20 years.

Cornerstone of global education

The IB at Gjøvik has become a cornerstone of global education, empowering students to excel academically and embrace intercultural understanding. 

Here’s to another 20 years of nurturing knowledgeable, compassionate, and principled students ready to make a difference.
